“Check or drop. Cartas desde Tailandia” is a series of drawings created from a trip I took to Thailand in August 2017. During the trip, I sent letters to myself recounting small daily anecdotes—those we tend to forget shortly after returning from a journey. Usually, when some time passes after a trip, we only remember a few anecdotes, forgetting the small circumstances that make our travels more interesting and authentic. To memorise them and to be inspired by them, I sent myself letters containing those small stories along with papers I collected (tickets, entry stubs, metro tickets…) which I would later use as the base of the drawing together with the envelope that contained them.
Technique: mixed media (collage, marker, coloured pencils, graphite) on paper.
