“VHS 16”

Images from the exhibition held at Galería 9, Valencia, and from the VHS exhibition at Galería Anaglifos, Barcelona.

“VHS” is a project that emerges, together with other works such as “La Colección” and “Fascículos,” from a theoretical–practical investigation into collecting and the relationship that binds a collector to their acquisitions, since, ultimately, it is another form of accumulation, differentiated from others by order and repetition.
In VHS we encounter a collection that, directly or indirectly, we have all had. In addition, I focus on rerecordable VHS tapes, as it is within them that we find the “second collection”: that of memories.
Rerecordable VHS tapes are, after all, containers of collections of memories, of moments—both through what we recorded directly from television and through recordings of memories from our own lives: births, trips, communions, etc.

Installation (painting, VHS tapes and video).
Variable dimensions.
